I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment on the first floor from June 2016 to December 2020. I found the administration and maintenance very helpful and responsive. I caught a few crickets every now and then, but that wasn't enough to bother me. My small issue was that one of the electronic credit card readers in the laundry room never worked. Eventually I filled the rooms and I was fine. This is also the first apartment where I received my full security deposit after moving out....
They helped me when I got blocked very quickly. I had the best neighbors I have ever had, everyone was so friendly and helpful. They took care of my packages when I was at work and even spoke to management on my behalf if I needed anything. Management has always responded very quickly to my email questions or concerns. If I needed help with anything, they scheduled the time and dispatched maintenance immediately. My elderly mother was visiting from Florida for a few months and she loved walking around the complex talking to everyone and exploring the area. I got married last year and bought a house; other than that, I wish I could have stayed at Douglass Gardens for a few more years. My guests and I felt very safe as the entire car park was fully lit every night.

My experience at Douglas Garden was terrible to say the least. We have an ongoing problem with squirrels entering the home despite numerous phone calls and emails which have done nothing to resolve the issue and kept saying there was nothing more they could do and follow the procedure. The caretaker is so inefficient. Management is rude and unprofessional.
Get ready for very thin ceilings

I lived in a 1 room apartment for 2 years. This place has pros and cons. Nice and quiet neighborhood. very spacious but... Main downside: surprisingly thin ceilings. If you want to hear literally everything your upstairs neighbor is doing, choose a ground floor apartment here! you here everything. Every time you flush. Every time you watch TV. Every time he moves in bed!! A pity. And for such an expensive place it's really a shame. Of course you can't know that...
this until you actually move. When you see the apartment you probably won't be there long enough to hear anything. So take my word for it. Is bad. On the plus side, the side panels are extremely well insulated, so you shouldn't be here with your side neighbors. That's good. A small downside is that you don't have your own washer/dryer, but that's typical around here.
