feelhe is afraid of the walking deadIs the first season going slower than you expected? The "good guys" heard you. Were you disappointed by the lack of walkers in the last few episodes? The "good guys" heard you. Were you disappointed when Travis played couch potato in the zombie apocalypse because he seemed to let things happen to him? The "good guys" definitely heard you.

yes completionhe is afraid of the walking deadThe first season was mainly designed to answer the questions many viewers had about the show. If you like the show's pacing or dating without walking (in many ways, I do), "The Good Guys" offers an exciting change of pace, allowing the characters we know to enter Season 2 in different emotional and material worlds. .

So let's start with the title "Good Guys". (You can name a few of the characters mentioned and the good guy's place in this reveal, if any. I'll focus on Travis, since some of the most important moments in the finale seem to revolve around His development.) Throughout the season, Travis tries to do what what he thinks is good or right, believing that things will get better, even if it means he doesn't take the actions the audience wants, and his response to the zombie apocalypse has more experience. This brings a built-in frustration to the character, even after his most self-aware moment with Doug in "Never Fade," when he tells his father to reassure his family that things will get better because that's his job as a father.

"Good Guys" sees Travis try again to do what he thinks is right, but he pays the price for an intentionally noble act and is forced to reconsider his decision. Before we get to that climactic and brutal moment, let's go back to Travis and his family at the beginning of "The Man."

Do they want more? Sign up to our newsletter for all the latest news from yesterday's telecast.Go here for more details.

The family knew the purpose of the soldier's visit and was preparing to leave. They'll head east as originally planned, but first they'll stop and pick up Lisa, Nick, and Griselda (who still think they're alive at this point). But there is one more person in their ranks - soldier Andy, currently tied up in the basement - and Daniel plans to kill him now and finish him off before they leave.

But Andy makes a deal: he's the only one who can help them navigate the military compound they're headed for, and if they keep him alive, he'll do it for them. Daniel agrees, but Andy knows it's a temporary solution to a long-term problem, as he explains to Travis. Daniel will kill him. As long as he remained on their team, that was inevitable, so he made another deal: if Travis let him go, he would tell his desperate father everything he needed to know about how to get over the Great Wall of China. families.

Travis wants to be a good guy. He wants to die as little as possible in this deadly world, especially if he can avoid it. So he lets Andy go, though the others don't realize he's gone until they get to the estate. Until then, everything was messed up. Walker Whisperer Daniel led an arena full of walkers into the military base, alerting several guards patrolling the gates. The guards start firing a volley of bullets at the walkers, but it's like hitting a T-Rex made up of dozens of T-Rex miniatures with a rock. With hundreds of walkers approaching the base, it was only a matter of time before they broke through.

But they proved to be enough to distract the guards as Travis and his friends left. Plan on a nearby parking lot. (If you had any doubts about Daniel's willingness to save his loved ones after torturing the soldiers who loved his daughter, make him willing to slaughter an entire base with dead people to remove those doubts.) Chris and Alicia will stay in the car, regardless how angry Daniel was. as Andy is being let go, there is nothing he can do now. Therefore, they continued with their plan and broke into the premises.

However, the simplest part of the plan goes awry when Chris and Alicia's layover mission is canceled due to the arrival of several soldiers. Everyone flees the base and a group of soldiers look for a getaway vehicle. They broke into the car and demanded the keys from the two teenagers. Chris resists at first, and after Alicia hands over the keys, one of the soldiers creepily teases her. It's enough to make the half-brother (who may or may not be likable) rightfully resentful and falls with the soldiers until one of them punches him in the face. They drove the vehicle, leaving the couple to fend for themselves.

Next: Not everyone can escape unscathed

The rest of the base was in a state of panic as a sea of walkers rushed towards the site. Exner wanted to evacuate all her critically ill patients and planned to do so, but the evacuation helicopter realized it was causing problems and refused to land. Even when she radioed for help to make sure everything was okay, she refused the expected promise of help.

So she told her staff to run. He will take care of the sick, but let them escape if possible. Lisa is worried and wants to help, but Exner has reconciled and persuades Lisa to run away. He did it in the chaos of the yard. He bounces around the facility, revealing horrors all around him as doors and guard towers crumble. He saw the bitten guard run headlong into the chopper's blades to avoid a spin.

The base is completely in ruins and the man in the suit, whose name we later learn is Strand, decides it's time for him and Nick to go. He has a plan, although Nick's theft of Strand's stolen keys is not part of the plan. However, in a move that proved his new compatriot was definitely someone worth keeping, the two began to flee, leaving the rest of the base's captive inhabitants behind.

They went through the building and met the soldier Strand had previously arranged with. Strand also died... he decided to take back the cufflinks he sold him. However, he left the watch out of goodwill. Unfortunately, that guy was also their escape plan, and the improvised exit led them to a dead end in the hallway. The doors in front of them on either side were locked, and a small group of walkers were coming down the hall to meet them.

It seems like the end for them, until Nick sees Madison, Travis and the others on the far side of the locked double doors. After breaking into some of the gated communities Nick and Strand left behind, they rush to the doors and try to open them, but the locks won't budge. Luckily, coincidence is a hell of a thing, and Lisa also shows up with her card. Of course, it took a lot of punches to finally make it work, with the walker only inches away, but everyone seemed to escape unscathed.

Now that their numbers have increased, the group begins to flee through the facility. Despite a dangerous hand-to-hand fight in the kitchen, they all make it out alive, but the misery of their situation begins. Lisa reveals to Ofelia and Daniel that Griselda is dead from an infection. Ophelia burst into tears and wanted to see her mother, but Lisa told her there was nothing else to see. It's over, but I can still get out alive.

And Exner is done. The team heads to the med ward and Lisa tries to convince Exner to come with them while Madison starts stocking up. However, it was lost in the place. He kills all the sick in the room so they never come back, but there is nowhere to go. In theory they could leave, but she doesn't think they have anywhere to go. Safety is an illusion for Exner at this point and Madison has to drag Lisa away. She knows a reason for failure when she sees it, and for her Exner is a textbook case at this point.

The entire crew leaves the facility and by day the chaos has calmed down. They re-enter the world looking for stacks. A pile of charred bodies and ashes, Daniel finished the army's work with more deaths. Ofelia collapses again, with Daniel the Stoic at her side as they watch the destruction behind them.

But the problem still occurs when they return to the parking lot. They found Chris and Alicia alive, the former injured, his mother was not happy about it, although their journey was over, at least they were both healthy. Until Andy shows up with a gun.

As Andy holds his former captor in his sights, the ghosts of Daniel's recent harrowing past come back to haunt him. Ophelia tried to convince him that Andy shot Ophelia in the shoulder instead of her father. However, Daniel was not the one to react. It's Travis.

Next post: A good man becomes a very different man

Yes, after a peaceful resistance, Travis, trying to prevent rather than encourage violence, went into a blind rage, punching and overpowering Andy. How can days, weeks of frozen rage seep out of a man who tries to be kind at every turn, kind to Andy? He saw one of his allies killed. Travis couldn't stand by and let his actions take an innocent life, so after holding back for so long, he jumped. This was the spark for Travis' change and will undoubtedly have an impact in Season 2. Even in the final scenes of the episode, the Travis we see is very much a product of that moment. It's hard to believe that Travis, who did what he did in the climax of the finale, is the same guy who stopped Madison from killing the neighbor who became human, hoping that he would still be human.

Which cliff? Well, after Madison pulled Travis away from Andy, they took Strand's advice to head west instead of east, specifically his beautiful mansion by the sea. Yes, Strand isn't just an eccentric eccentric—he's also paid for with an enviable house, a luxury yacht, and probably a bunch of other secrets we can only guess at.

There, the family is in incredible comfort and peace. The only sounds in the distance were the waves and the cries of seagulls, not the wailing of walkers or the firing of military rifles. Lisa treats Ofelia and with proper care she should make a full recovery. Chris and Alicia enjoyed some pop while Madison shared a sweet apology moment with Nick.

"It's like I've been living here for a long time and now everyone's after me," Nick says, which must be a bit of an exaggeration since he's not fighting a hungry horde of the undead to survive. Years, but it's an interesting mission statement for a future character. This means that Nick could end up being one of the calmest and most unyielding people in the future as the world descends into battle around him.

She found a partner to enter this crazy world with Strand. "The only way to survive in a crazy world is to embrace the madness," Strand tells Nick when he asks what the plan is. Strand didn't want them there, he was looking for Abigail, who wasn't a person but a ship. He showed Nick his beautiful boat in the water off shore, giving some sort of goal for next season.

However, there is one person who will not go with the crowd, and that is Lisa. She tearfully hugged her son Chris as they shared a moment in the kitchen, but they weren't tears of joy. They are sad, Madison realizes and follows Lisa to a nearby cliff.

There, she discovers that she was bitten by a child during an argument in the kitchen, and Lisa knows what's in store for her and wants her dead before she returns. She asks Madison to do it for her because she can't bring herself to put a loaded gun to her head. Madison refuses at first, but Lisa immediately contradicts Madison's words. Travis' new love asks his old one to kill her when she is bitten. Now Lisa is asking for the same, so Travis doesn't have to.

But Travis continues to follow the two and discovers a scene where Madison is holding the doomed weapon. He didn't ask Madison to pull the trigger, though. This is Travis taking charge, even if it's bloody. After sharing one last moment with Lisa, gunshots rang out across the idyllic landscape for all to hear. Chris and Alicia run, the former discovering his mother's body, shot in the head, while Travis goes to the beach, elated by the moment. Madison catches up and joins him, the two of them alone by the sea, the camera zooming out to show their small place in the bigger picture. Death has temporarily broken Travis, but it probably won't be the last difficult decision he has to make. After all, one direction is a cataclysmic continent to deal with, the other a vast ocean, and neither has a particularly easy future.

So ending the season with a finale feels like a jump for the series as a whole. "The Good Guys" opens with a view of Los Angeles without electricity, where light is the only light we see. But now, in the light of day, despite the horrors he has seen and committed, the honorable good man cannot fear, for more horrors may follow.
